Nice little guitar for a small priceFeb 07, 2011
By Hawaiian Brian This is a review of the AXl Marquee Eldorado in Mint green. Arrived in perfect condition. Needed a slight truss rod tweak and bridge adjustment to lower the action where I like it-although it was decent right out of the box. The action is nice-very similar to my Tele-the satin "C" shaped neck is very comfortable and plays nicely. Intonation is spot on and there is no fret buzz at all. I am thinking of putting on a set of locking tuners though.
The fit and finish is impressive for such a cheap guitar-Hats off to AXL for this one. The stock EMG designed pickups sound pretty good with a variety of sounds possible-I was planning on upgrading the pickups but I think I'll wait.
I really like the looks of this guitar-sort of a "Retro Style" appearance. The bound headstock also is a nice touch. I recommend this guitar very highly-nice playing ax for short money.
