I bought this for my wife because she has killed about half a dozen of the ones bought at Wal-mart. After letting it warm up, my wife pushed the button and it made a funny noise like it wasn't pumping (maybe it just needed priming) but once it got going "WOW". My wife wouldn't take her thumb off the button. I thought the poor machine was done for, but it kept pumping out that fog.

This is an excellent fog machine but you need the more advanced timer controller to really put it through its paces: American DJ F Timer FS1200 Timer Control for Fog Storm 1200 and1700. This will allow you to specify the frequency and duration of fog output, essential for set'n'forget operation.

The DJ Fog Storm was a great addition this Halloween. The 1200 makes a huge amount of fog in short order -- all that we wanted. It has the run-dry shut off safety device that frankly should be standard equipment on all fog machines. Like all fog machines there is the potential for the fog to leave a slight residue on surfaces if used indoors. It works well outdoors even with some minor wind and in a courtyard can quickly fill the space to the point of zero visibility. I recommend a strobe light or two for more dramatic effects. If you do not want to manually control fog production with the included (wired) remote, you will need the computer controller (sold separately).
