 Tri Gem LED is not exactly as advertised.Jan 21, 2011

I am relatively new to performing with my own lights, so I purchased two of these with a few other led lights to get me started. I placed these as well as an H2O led and a sunray tri led on a 10 foot eliminator truss system. While these lights do work well, with three different motion modes and they run very cool all night, they left me with something to be desired. The Tri Gem LED setup was always described online and on the box as being able to display Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Cyan & White, however on both of these units, it simply is not the case. The led lights do not line up to overlap each other to give you the full color range. Instead, when the light is trying to display a color other than Red Green or Blue, it shows multiple color beams instead of one. Although this is not a deal breaker for me, it was pretty disappointing when I was expecting to see 7 colors and not just 3.
Also, be careful when judging the light based on pictures you might see. One of the pictures that I saw made it seem like the light created a circle pattern, but it does not. So the picture must have been taken while moving and gave it motion blur.

ive been using this light for the past 6 months in my mobile dj setup
They create a strobing moonflower effect which is really cool
Pros
-Led light: i run these straight the whole night (for the most part) and they dont get hot and have no duty cycle and easy on electricity
-Effect: the strobing moonflower effect works really well with or without fog. i use fog with my setup and they look really good compared
to the other moonflower effects out there. its a really classy effect, not corny red and yellow lights like the standard ones out there. it
also strobes which adds to the effect
-great sound active programming, no need to adjust anything
- durable, dropped these many times from pretty high up, the solid metal construction makes them really durable
-good discount for a quality item like this
Cons
-cable is kinda short
-no dmx programming
Overall I would reccomend this light to anyone seeking a pretty cheap, quality, classy light.
