Couldn't think of a worse UkuleleApr 17, 2010

I have had about 35-30 Ukuleles over the years. Some were sopranos, concerts, tenors, and baritones. By far this is the worse buy I have made at any price. I do realize that this is an inexpensive ukulele but I have paid less and got lots more in sound and quality from ukuleles in this cheap price range. This baritone has cheapo friction tuners that don't hold, uneven frets, buzzing on first two strings, no intonation to speak of, horribly thin fretboard, extremely high setup (probably on purpose to keep down the buzzing). Not sure of what kind of wood it is, but shows no grain. The spruce top does look adequate and is probably the best part of this uke. You can do lots better at this price with a Lanikai, Kala, or Makai. Can't think of a good reason to buy a Cheapo Amigo.

Not as bad as the other reviewer made it soundFeb 25, 2011
By K. Davis I got mine at a little shop (not online) but this uke is not that bad. Mine tunes fine and stayed in tune (no issues with the pegs/tuners sticking or slipping). It actually has kind of low action, which is good if you are new to playing a larger uke. The top strings can buzz a little if you are slopping with your fretting. However, LOTS of people, like me, might want to try out a baritone and see if they like it before committing to a really pricy instrument. Because it's tuned like the top four strings of a guitar, you can easily give this away to a guitar player who will like it, if you decided to move up to a better model.
