By Bellwether This little accordion is a riot! It works, and it works very well. It was quite a hit at the family Christmas celebration.

just a toyDec 10, 2011
By Adam The notes you can make with this accordion on the treble side are
pushing:........................pulling: B..................................A G..................................F E..................................D C..................................B G..................................A E..................................F C..................................D
and on the bass side
pushing:.......................pulling: C C(octave higher)........G G(octave higher) C G.............................D G
The third bass button is just an air valve so you can open and close the bellows without making a sound.
That means the chords you can play are C, C7, Em, Dm, and Dm6.
You won't be playing many songs with this accordion, but it's small and cheap, so it makes a good gift for a young child.

Good as a Childs ToyJan 06, 2011
By Joli As a toy the accordian worked well in that it made sounds like an accordian. However, not useful for making simple music since the sounds are random and not based on any scale.

Broke on the insideFeb 22, 2011
By NickC It sounded pretty good! The 3 bass keys on the right side of the instrument are cool but I would have preferred more. The inside of the accordion broke when my brother was playing it though. Thus making the sound on the keys on the left side not work anymore V_V. I would not recommend buying for any one of any age any skill level because it might break on you!!

All-ages accordion.Oct 19, 2011
By Early Bird I decided recently that I wanted to explore playing a concertina or accordion. I am not particularly inclined towards keyed instruments and to start somewhere, I thought it would be a good idea to buy a very small, very simple instrument. Reviews for this small child's accordion universally lauded it as a lot of fun for kids and the same for adults too, so I jumped at it.
It's physically quite small. About 1/4 the size of the box it shipped in. It makes plenty of noise though, and generally pleasing tones. As others have observed, the keys are set up so that it's impossible to play a discordant note. There are other colors of what appears to be this exact toy, and I really like the look of the black one. You could almost pass it off as a legitimate instrument at an open mic night. It plays in "anglo" style, which means that each key plays a different note depending on whether you are pushing or pulling. This makes it difficult to master, but also allows for some really neat patterns.
After an evening playing, none of the buttons stick and the bellows feels about as loose as it'll get. I do wish the bellows were longer, as using both key sections at the same time makes it run out of breath very quickly. Really though, it's a child's toy so what do you want?
I would buy this for any kid and even for a musically-inclined adult who loves collecting instruments. There's a fifty-dollar step-up from this model that includes an octave or two of regular piano keys. I'll be buying that next.
