Very Nice 3/4 Classical GuitarFeb 25, 2011

I have had both expensive and inexpensive classical guitars and for some reason I am drawn to the 3/4 size. They are easy to handle, lightweight, and normally are very good sounding. The Cadet is really a nice classical for the money. I do realize that you can get a good one and you can get a bad one. This is normally true with any instrument. The guitar I received was perfect in every way. Great finish, frets perfect, good intonation, all inside bracing and glue were top notch, and most important it played like a dream. Sustain was better than expected. The only thing that you should consider is that the nut width is 1 7/8 inches wide and while this is slightly less than a full size 2 inch nut it is still a stretch for fingering. The fretboard is flat requiring you to stretch more than a radius fretboard or a standard acoustic guitar. I like everything about the Cadet and I really like the price on it. If you are new to classical guitars try out a 3/4 size before you put down your money for a full size. You might just fall in love with it.

A Very Nice InstrumentApr 19, 2011

This guitar arrived today from Amazon and I was delighted with it. I'm a 72 year old great grandmother who is just now learning to play a guitar. Other standard size guitars have proven too large and cumbersome for my small hands, but this Cordoba Cadete 3/4 size Classical Guitar is PERFECT for me and fits me beautifully. The sound quality is excellent as is the workmanship and I'm having a blast learning the various chords. I originally planned to learn to play on this guitar and graduate to a larger one, but I may simply stick with this guitar. It is a perfect fit and I'm having too much fun memorizing the chords and training my hands to play. I hope to be fairly skilled in a short time and with this guitar that won't be an issue. This is an excellent small instrument and I highly recommend it.

Great value, great soundsApr 25, 2011

This guitar was on the short list for my 8 year old son to learn on. I was having trouble deciding between this guitar and a well reviewed and much cheaper Yamaha. I called around to some of the local shops and found a Cadete for only $200 (ABC Music, Salem OR). Of course I knew that was too good a deal to pass on. It has a SOLID cedar top, and a truss rod for adjustment if that is ever necessary. In short this is built like a quality full scale guitar, only a bit smaller. As another reviewer said the neck is still wider than a steel string guitar if that is a concern to you.
Brought this baby home and my son loves it. When he isn't playing it, I am. It sounds great and thanks to the solid top will only get sweeter with time. The guitar holds tune very well and intonnation is perfect too. My nice electric gutiar is sad with neglect, but my son and I are very happy.
Excellent Value for the moneyFeb 12, 2012
By Denise Souriall My Cordoba Cadet came with a flawless finish. There is not one blemish that I can see. It is very fun to play and easy on the fingers as well. It's voice is loud and I find myself grabbing it all the time even though there are 2 other guitars around to play. I am an adult female and the 3/4 size is plenty big for me. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who wants a great sounding nylon string regardless of its size.
Beautiful Sound!Jan 09, 2012
By Muse Ician I bought this guitar for my wife who is learning guitar. She is petite in size and therefore this guitar is a perfect match. This guitar has amazing volume for its size. It out-performs many other full sized guitars that I tried while at a music store. This is because of the solid cedar top. If your looking for an excellent beginner classical guitar I would not look anywhere else. For Children and adults alike this is a guitar that is worth considering except for those with above average sized hands.
The gig bag is of excellent quality, fully padded and of thick material, All you need to transport this guitar to class or to a friends house and for storage.
If there is a negative thing to be said about this guitar is that the bridge is not finished and could have used some lacquer.
Ultimately the most important factor here for me is functionality and sound. It is very forgiving on the hands to play and sounds amazing so that earns 5 stars.
