5A REAL Standard Pro DJ MixerNov 18, 2010
By H. Lee "DJ WokJockey"
General Overview:
This is actually the smallest standard 2 channeled 10" mixer out there so far. The make feels solid and is not cheap like any other plastic mixer out there. The parts are pretty solid too. It doesn't pack much extra features but for a beginner(like me) this mixer is pretty much the best one could start out with for a price below 200. (Remember, good mixers are worth at least 300~500ish or more)

Surface parts:
It feels extremely well built, metal encasing, and even though the knobs are plastic it's still pretty strong. The faders are wonderful, although I didnt try to remove them to test the switchability, it is originally glued down and VERY strong against accident removal from crabs or fast fader techniques. The decals/markings on the surface are also well painted (not easy to wear/chip) The kill switch (or phone/line channel switches) are a bit disappointing since it is the only part that I don't feel safe to cheat fader techniques. In other words they aren't as strong as the mic switch could be. The mic switch is a great metal stick switch VERY SOLID. The rear RCAs/quarter jack inputs are solidly built as well.

Functionalities/Features:
This is a no effect 2 channeled mixer. The sound is as crisp as the input source/output speakers could be. the cross fader cruve is adjustable (slow to fast, slow being a mixing crossfading effect, whereas the fast function as the curve scratch DJs would want)The center blue denon icon lights up but it only signals powere is on and it is not a bpm count. Upfaders are not adjustable, but the change in the volume with the upfaders are significantly noticable. (Top: being in full gain volume, Bottom: having the volume switched off completely) The volume control have 3 EQs for each channel (the mic has two: High and Low) It also has a master volume control. This mixer is extremely easy for portability if (like me) you do not own one of those expensive coffins/flight cases.

Special Feature:
The only "effect" or special feature on this mixer would be the fader start option on this mixer. Since it is a denon mixer, when you purchase products such as a DNS1200 or a DNS3700. You could connect a mono 3.5mm jack from the cd players to the mixer to operate this fader start program. Basically you push the upfaders up to act as a play function for the players. There also the crossfader start where it is the same function except the other player stops when you switch.

Comparison:
Compared with the Behringer VMX1000 (that i shortly returned upon testing) I would still prefer this since this mixer delivers everything that a regular two channel mixer could provide. It is the perfect 2 channel mixer. (Stanton,Numark,American Audio, Pyle Pro, all those company's 2 channel mixer serve as a cheaper generic substitute. But remember you get what you paid for. And for 175(shipping not included) I am satisfied with this product.

Bottom Line:
If you got the money and you're stressing over which mixer to get, save up and get this mixer. It is NOT the best mixer, but it is certainly THE BEST 2 CHANNEL MIXER out there.

4Great little mixerDec 09, 2009
By C. A. Jones
This mixer is very high quality for its compactness and price. It may not perform as well as some of the upper level mixers such as allen and heath and pioneer, but for a standard two turntable, mic, and line mixer it is one of the best mixers ive used.

This is a great little mixer and its extremely light on the wallet. I've had this mixer for a year now and its been great to me. Its very basic, no effects. I'm a basic DJ though so its perfect for me. Great for hobbyist especially. Also great for a road kit too.
