5Cool unitMay 20, 2008
By B. L. Bird "Dude at large"
Within it's class and price range, I'm giving it a five.
You'll end up paying a good 500-600$ to find anything better.

This has to be the quietest multi-fx I've ever used. Even the fuzz-wah doesn't give background hiss cranked up on my system. Except the buttons, it's all metal and pretty solid.

You can't edit effect parameters with the computer.

The pedal distance is pretty short and there's almost no resistance to it.

As has been said elsewhere, the fretless has quite a lag to it. Not useless, just a lag to get used to.

For the money, no hiss, metal body, a good selection of flavors, basic (and effortless to get going) drums and a pedal that can be assigned to about every parameter I can find.
It's the best unit in this price range, period.

4A good accessory for bassDec 01, 2009
By Steven Gorman
This is a good tool at a good price. I had a Behringer Bass V-Amp and found it harder to use, with its 4 banks of effects. The Digitech BP200 is easier to use, with its simple up and down scrolling through 40 preset effects, which you can also adjust and save to 40 additional presets. Some of the presets are just too downright weird and distorted to actually use, but there are at least 10 that I have found so far that are useful to me. For that, it has been a worthwhile purchase. Plus, I am now starting to tweak my favorite presets, and saving them to new preset locations. It takes a while to get to know all the presets and how they react to tweaking, so you have to take your time getting to know this device, and it will get more useful to you.

This is a great tool to have in your practice room. With just one device you have a tuner, a basic drum machine, and all the effects. Plus a volume pedal (can be programmed for other functions too), which can come in handy when you need a quick boost. Its metal case seems sturdy, but I wrap in in a towel before throwing it in my gig bag, to protect the knobs and the finish.

One thing I have found is that I use different presets for home practice than I do for band practice or gigs. What may sound kind of perfect and smooth at home actually gets lost in a band setting. And what sounds too harsh and edgy at home actually sounds good in a band setting. With all the extra volume in a band, a more punchy bass sound actually helps cut through all the noise.

I have not noticed any noise or hum when using this product. It is very quiet. The only time you hear a little slight "clicking" is when you actually turn the control knobs when making an adjustment. But you are not generally doing that while playing, so it isn't a problem.

I have been enjoying getting to know this product, and I continue to find interesting sounds to try out at home, and in a band setting. I'm sure this will keep me occupied and interested for some time to come! I'm happy with the good price and free shipping from Amazon.

5Good starter pedalApr 20, 2010
By D. Sillitti
I bought this about a month and a half ago from Guitar Center, and I haven't regretted the purchase. Some of the sounds are very similar, but I've found about a half dozen that I use every time I play. Given that buying separate pedals would have run me somewhere in the neighborhood of $400, this is a downright steal. That being said, I'm currently only a hobbyist, so I'm not out playing gigs on this or anything. I'd recommend picking one up so that you can figure out what sort of effects you like on the cheap, and then make a slower investment into better pedals if you decide to take your act out into the world.

5My second one of the same modelMar 02, 2009
By Franklin F. Smith "Frankasaurus"
I have used this pedal for a long time. I recently went to go jam and this thing was going crazy. It sounded crazy and the display was going all wild and I could not fix it. It has worked fine for years, and does everything I need it to, so I bought another one. Sure, I could have upgraded and gotten something else for my next pedal setup but I am really happy with this one. It is very intuitive to use and flexible. It sounds great whether I am just jamming with friends or if I am recording. It is great. 5 Stars.

3Gets the job done on the cheap.Nov 28, 2011

I bought this used for a friend here for 79.99. I would not get this unit new for its going street price of 149.99. Its got access to a lot of different sounds but each of those sounds isn't exactly too adjustable. Good for getting yourself into effects for the first time, but I wouldn't consider it for live serious gigging.
