This works great. Makes the uke have more low frequency emphasis especially if you use a low G string. Makes a better sound for blues and jazz numbers. Works without any preamp when used with the Roland Micro Cube.

3Problems on my Tenor with low G stringOct 29, 2010
By Tenor uke
I just had this installed in my Pono Tenor Uke. Unlike many tenor players, I prefer my 4th string to be a low G, rather than the octave higher. After having just had this pickup put in, the first 3 strings sound great, but the low g (4th) is about half the volume of the other 3 strings. I'm gonna take my instrument back to my repair guy and see what he has to say. I'm wondering if this pickup just isn't designed for the lower range.

Other than my low G string, the other 3 sound great. I imagine that if you're playing a regularly strung uke, it might work out for you just fine.
