5Overall a great little cheap harpJun 01, 2006
By jinglehimerschmidt
This is probably the second harmonica I ever bought. Now I have 10+. It's really a pretty nice little harp. It's cheap enough that I can really do a number on it without worrying about breaking or gumming up a reed. Great for when I want to save some of my pricer harps. It's constructed a bit like the special twenty and sounds probably closes to that, but a little less pretty. It's been durable and enjoyable. Well worth the price.
I should also mention that it doesn't come with a plastic case like the other Hohners.

I'm just a novice, but it works just like it is supposed to, it is solid and enjoy playing it.

I have gotten more than my money's worth already.

Great instrument for the price. Its far better than any other harp in its price range. I am pleasantly surprised, and very happy with the product. It allows me to try out stuff safely without risking my rpicier harps...and its really durable....great product.... would highly recommend to beginners.

5A pretty good harmonica for 6 bucksMar 21, 2008
By J. K. Eiler
Ahhh...the Hohner Pocket Pal. My first harmonica. For $6, this little guy turned out to be well worth it. I was expecting a terrible sound and design coupled with cheap plastic reeds and a cheaper plastic body. This harmonica exceeded expectations and, as it turns out, sounds pretty good. The design is good; it's a combination of a plastic body with metal overlays. The reeds are actually pretty darn good for $6, at least for 4 months or so.

I would recommend this as a gift for kids or as a neat way to while away time on the front porch. However, if you are considering learning how to play harmonica and get good at it, hit the back button on your browser and type in Lee Oskar C Diatonic. That right there is a true instrument for a budding harp player at a ridiculously amazing price.

Overall, this was a neat little harmonica that gave me months of enjoyment. I ended up going on to bigger and better things (the Lee Oskar), but as a kid's gift or toy this does the job with little damage to mom and dad's pocketbook.

5Epihone Casino Jazz Player PlayerApr 11, 2009
By Dale Carter
I bought one these cheap harmonicas and guess what? It sounds really nice for the price; could have cost $18.00, and this Pocket Pal' harmonica does cost 18 to 20 bucks here in Chicago. Plays very well; must be able to appreciate quality in a small price. There's nothing wrong with this harmonica. People that commented on the down-side of this product, probably would complain over an even more expensive harmonica.
Love your instrument and it will love you; be gentle, don't attempt to be hard because you're not; be real like PlayerPlayer and not a hater.
