A Nice UkuleleJun 08, 2011
By Alana S I bought this ukulele in a store without reading any reviews, and I was surprised to see the negative reviews for it here on Amazon. It may be a little overpriced, but mine has been pretty good about staying in tune. The other reviewers may just need to tighten the pegs.
The unfinished wood body makes it easier to keep a hold on it, which is nice. It's a delicate instrument but seems like good quality, and the sound is great. I compared it with a couple soprano ukes in the store and there was no comparison. It has a much thicker, richer sound than the little ukes. It feels and plays like a real instrument and not a toy. My only big complaint is with the gig bag. It only opens at the bottom, which makes it difficult to get the uke in, and could potentially knock it out of tune while sliding it in. It's better to invest in a hard case for the long run, but this one will do in a pinch.
All in all, I'm happy with my uke.

Great for a beginner like me. Plays easily, nice sound, now if I could only get my fingers to land in the right place, everything would be just fine.

Great StarterJan 11, 2012
By J. Fiske Bought this while I was in Iraq and in my free time was able to teach myself how to play. Led to some pretty awesome times sitting around the fire place at night. But its a good Uke and recommended as a cheap starter to anybody whose never played before.
Terrible intonationMar 22, 2012
By ALo Instrument's intonation is terrible. For some strings, every fret is very sharp. You get what you paid for.
The good the bad and the laminateMar 18, 2012

Starting with the bad this uke is not a solid body or top uke but rather a laminate. There is some string buzz on the high A string when fretted at the first and second frets. The nut needed some work. But this is still an decent ukulele. Now the good the tuners keep accurate tuning. The size allows me to use a low wound g string tuning and the lows and highs sound good of course not as good as a solid top tenor although it has a thinner top than my solid body ukes because the laminate is stronger. The tension of this GCEA tuning works great for this particular scale. This makes a good travel ukulele for fun in the sun.
