Not great, but does the jobMar 03, 2012
By MSO I have owned about three different hard cases for my guitars valued between $100-$200, and this one does not come close to the craftsmanship of them. The case is a bit flimsy on the outside, but strong enough. The inside is pretty bad, it is lined with a very cheap felt material that seems like something you would use in a kindergarten classroom - there is one strip of felt padding around the large area of the case that WOULD keep it snugly in place and stop it from moving, except when I put my oud inside, I couldn't close the lid - so I just pulled it out (it was glued in).
Even with the Oud having a couple inches where it could slide around in the case, it is still more protected than if it was in a soft case, and that is why I'm not giving it one star - most Oud cases go for hundreds, and for $60 this is protecting my Oud enough for a beginner. I plan to get creative with figuring out how to make the inside hold the Oud snugly in place, but bottom line is it is sufficient protection for a very low price. Not a well made product though.
Also, anyone interested in getting a well made Oud for a beginner, go on ebay and purchase one through the seller "universalact" - you can get a Turkish/Armenian style Oud with a pickup for about $300-$400
