I don't know why my son needed this with his new drum, but it was on the list. The drum is quite awkward to handle, so having a stand made sense. I got the carry bag for the drum, but the stand has to travel separately... Why don't they make a bag to carry both drum & stand?
Anyway, the stand is sturdy and my son is appreciative...both speak volumes.

The stand looks great when my djembe sits on it. I have a Remo Leon Mobley Signature djembe. When playing I question the functionality of the stand. I tend to have to balance it with my feet as I play. It kind of wobbles... especially on carpet. But on really smooth floors it is barely noticable. This stand is good if you don't play much or can figureout a way to prevent the wobble. But it is a good price and it does the job. I'm thinking about making a sandbag to place on the base to prevent the wobble since i think its too light to support the djembe so it becomes top heavy. Its a good buy if you're on a budget.
