1Try it, and you WON'T want it.Nov 10, 2007

Do not be seduced by the clever way this stand folds up like something out of the Transformers movie. The V-Stand fails the single most important test of any keyboard stand: it simply isn't solid. Your gear will bounce and wobble in a manner that will distract you from your performance. You'd think that all that metal would result in a stand that holds your gear perfectly still, but that is unfortunately not the case. Perhaps that is something you can get used to, or are willing to put up with in exchange for the quick setup & break-down time. But if you use the second tier, you can kiss that speed good-bye. You can't fold up the stand with the tier attached, in fact you can't even fold up the stand while leaving on the two brackets that the tier halves fit into. This is a really major oversight and could have easily been avoided with a little more design work. The two pieces of the tier do not fold up, so you've got to have something to store them in. One thing that WON'T work for that purpose is the V-Stand bag, which is sized to hold the folded-up stand, and nothing else. There are no pockets. There's certainly no room for the V-Stand music stand, which is difficult to adjust and requires even more space than the tier pieces, and no room for the mic stand. I've liked a lot of USS gear in the past, so it's hard to believe that they would do such a half-baked job on the V-Stand. Nevertheless, I'd say this is a product to avoid. The other stand from USS, the Apex, does not fold up quite as much as the V-Stand, but is a better choice in virtually every other way.

I got 3 V stands and 2 of them got broken in the first months. The bad thing is that I live overseas (outside the US) and the shipping cost to get a replacements are more than the stands temselves.

In order to set the stands in the right position you have to pull a little clip that will return to the position holding the telemetric harms back. Well, those clips get broken because are made of a thing hard plastic that does not resist the preassure when you pull it out. So the telemetric harm falls with you gear on top.

I got the double tier but as they are blended metal they are not blended equally and you can tell the keyboard on top lays on a side.

Using the V stand itself is ok but the add ons take a lot of space and makes the old fashioned Ultimate Apex stand the best portable solution when using more than one keyboard.

Well worth the money. I love this stand. I got the mic boom and the music holder accessories and love them. That was my main pupose of getting this stand to de-clutter my stage setup. Its great. Its a pity that Ultimate seems to be on hold with making stuff now. I was fortunate to get one through Amazon!
